Christian Bourgeois grew up in Ascension Parish and graduated from St. Amant High School in 1996. After high school, he attended LSU and played baseball from 1997-2000. He was fortunate enough to be on the 1997 and 2000 National Championship teams. He married his high school sweetheart Melissa Burton on Sept. 29, 2001. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in August of 2007. Christian and Melissa lived in St. Augustine until 2014, when they decided to move home and open Bourgeois Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab. Their oldest son Noah was born in St. Augustine on August 5, 2009, and their youngest son Luke was born in Baton Rouge on April 14, 2020. Christian is passionate about physical therapy, and he and Melissa firmly believe in supporting the Ascension Parish community. They want everyone who walks through the doors of Bourgeois Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab to feel like they are part of the Bourgeois PT family!

Melissa provides administrative support to our clinicians and support staff as the office manager. Melissa enjoys many volunteer roles within the community and loves to serve where she can. Melissa is a native to south Louisiana and married her high school sweetheart Christian in 2001. Together they have two sons; Noah and Luke and the family pup, Bacca. Melissa loves to laugh, pray and relax throughout her day!

“Kish” was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. He went to Woodlawn high school graduating in 2010. He attended Louisiana State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in the Kinesiology major in 2014. Kish attended the University of St. Augustine in Austin, TX. Kish received his doctorate degree in physical therapy in 2018, and soon began working for Bourgeois Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab.

Since working as a physical therapist, Kish has received a certification in Concussion Management from Complete Concussion Management Incorporation, and also received his dry needling certification from Myopain Seminars earning the credentials CMTPT in 2020.

Kish is an avid sports enthusiast (especially of the LSU Fighting Tigers!), and currently plays volleyball, basketball, and flag football. He enjoys working with all populations, and especially loves being a mentor to young patients. Kish is fueled by his passion to treat every individual, helping them get back to their normal activities. He enjoys educating all his patients about their condition, giving them comfort and enjoyment during treatment. He also loves to learn more each day from colleagues in order to become a better physical therapist. Kish likes to say, “teamwork makes the dream work” and “let’s make it happen.”

Brooke grew up in Ascension Parish and graduated from St. Amant High School. She attended college at LSU and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of South Alabama in 2015. During her years of practicing physical therapy, Brooke has received certifications in dry needling through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy, vestibular/concussion treatment through Summit Education, as well as LSVT BIG, a treatment for Parkinson’s disease. She has also has many years of experience treating various neurological conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, and spinal cord injuries. Brooke lives in Gonzales with her husband Jaise and their dog Teddy. She enjoys gardening, reading, and anything related to musical theatre. Brooke’s goal while working at Bourgeois PT is to help patients reach their goals and get back to doing what they love through individualized care.

Jason is a Louisiana native that graduated from Southeastern University with his degree in Fitness & Human Performance in 2011. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy in 2015 from the University of St. Augustine in St. Augustine, FL. He met his wife, Sam, in physical therapy school and later married in November 2016. He also met our owner, Christian, while attending physical therapy school. Jason and his wife were travel therapists from 2017 – 2019, taking contract work around the country. During that time, they also traveled to Canada, Alaska, Italy, & Greece. As a result of these travels, he became an avid hiker and photographer. Jason and Sam had their son, Graham, in January 2019, and their daughter, Scout, in June 2021. He’s a wildlife enthusiast, an avid traveler and hiker, and loves photography. Jason uses education, exercise, and lifestyle change as his primary forms of treatment for his patients.

Devin was born and raised in Gonzales, LA. He graduated from East Ascension High School in 2013 and began college at LSU. In his time at LSU he worked as a physical therapy technician at Traction Elite Physical Therapy in Baton Rouge. He graduated from LSU in 2018 with his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering and decided to go back to school for physical therapy. He attended physical therapy school at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport and received his doctorate of physical therapy in May of 2022. He worked as a therapist at Baton Rouge Physical Therapy before joining Bourgeois PT in February of 2023. He attained his Astym certification in July of 2022 and Level 1 Dry Needling certification through Evidence in Motion in September of 2022.

Devin and his wife Jacee were married in November of 2022 and now reside in Prairieville. In his free time, Devin likes to play beach volleyball and watch his favorite sports teams including LSU, the New Orleans Saints, and the Atlanta Braves. Devin enjoys treating orthopedic and sports injuries and looks forward to building relationships and getting his patients back to doing what they love.

Rennie Walker grew up in Lake Charles and graduated from St. Louis Catholic High School in 2007. During his high school soccer career, he was part of a team that went on to win three state championships and one NSCAA National Championship. Throughout that time, he went on to garner All-District, All-State, NSCAA All-American, and NSCAA/adidas Louisiana State Player of the Year honors. After high school he went on to play Division I soccer at Centenary College of Louisiana from 2007-2011.  Rennie graduated from Centenary with his Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science.  He went on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in Austin, Texas. Rennie is certified in dry needling through the Dry Needling Institute of the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy. Rennie’s love of the great outdoors inspires his athleticism alongside his wife, Mellynn, son Baker, and their chocolate lab Brie.  In his spare time, you can find Rennie on the water, fishing for red snapper off-shore or in-shore chasing trophy trout, staying active, and enjoying the outdoors with his family.

Kasey Ware PT, DPT  was born and raised in Baton Rouge, LA. She graduated from LSU and then attended University of South Alabama Physical Therapist School graduating in 2009. Kasey’s area of specialty is Neurologic physical therapy, specifically stroke rehabilitation.   She has been a resident of Prairieville, LA since 2017. She is married to her husband and they have two amazing kids. When she is not busy shuffling kids around town to their various activities, she enjoys, reading, gardening, and spending time with her animals. Kasey’s favorite thing about being a PT at Bourgeois is connecting with the members of the community to allow them to live life to the fullest.

Mariett grew up in St. Amant and went to St. Amant high school. Go Gators! After high school, she attended RPCC where she achieved her Associates Degree. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Medical Management at Southeastern Louisiana University. She is married to her husband, Chase, of 5 years. Mariett and her husband have 2 dogs they love, Molly and Lucy. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys being an aunt to her precious nephews and niece. Mariett’s goal working at Bourgeois Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab is to make her coworkers and the patients always feel like they can count on her to get what they need done.

Abbie was born and raised in Ascension Parish. She attended East Ascension High School while simultaneously enrolled in the Early College Program at RPCC, graduating with an associate’s degree in General Studies. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Southeastern Louisiana University in December 2022. Abbie is married to her high school sweetheart, Evan. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, listening to great music, and hanging out with her husband. At Bourgeois Physical Therapy and Sports Rehab, Abbie’s goal is to help create a welcoming environment where everyone feels like family, knows they’re valued, and leaves with a smile.

Tylee was born and raised in Ascension Parish, Louisiana. She graduated from St. Amant High School, where she earned her CNA license. With a lifelong passion for the medical field and providing exceptional care, Tylee first joined Bourgeois Physical Therapy as a patient. She later began working as a Physical Therapist Technician, and after six months, transitioned into her current role as Patient Care/Front Desk Coordinator. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature, reading, crafting, and thrifting. Tylee’s goal at Bourgeois Physical Therapy is to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere and ensure each patient’s transition into the Bourgeois family is smooth and comfortable.

Jeannie grew up in Napoleonville, Louisiana, and graduated from Assumption High School. She moved to this side of the river in 2007. Before joining the Bourgeois Physical Therapy family, Jeannie worked at a veterinary hospital in Baton Rouge for 18 years, showcasing her true love for animals. In her downtime, she enjoys spending quality time with her two beautiful daughters and tending to her numerous plants. Jeannie’s goal at Bourgeois Physical Therapy is to provide exceptional customer service in a welcoming, family-oriented atmosphere.

Kim grew up in Baton Rouge, LA and attended Istrouma High School graduating in 1973. Kim was a partner for a business called Physical Inspections Inc. for 17 years in 3 different states. She then pursued a career in the Casino industry in 1994. She started as a pit clerk but moved her way up to where she became a part of the executive board about 6 years after beginning this career. She finally worked for Hollywood Casino as a shift manager until 2018 and then left that position and began working for Bourgeois Physical Therapy & Sports Rehab.

She’s been married to Donald Ray for 14 years, but they have been together for 30 years. As a joke, Kim likes to say she didn’t want to rush the relationship. Kim has 2 children of her own from previous marriages and one stepchild with Donald Ray. She has 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. Kim likes a good time, a good drink, country music, and a friendly conversation.
